Hello. It is now 4th quarter, which is the last quarter of the year, which is exiting. Towards the end of 3rd quarter we started a new video media project which is a movie trailer. Our goal set for this project it to create a minute and a half to 2 minute fictional movie trailer with a dramatic voice over that captures your audiences attention, and entertains them without giving away the ending. As well as a corresponding original movie poster, all with the highest production quality to keep your audience captivated. The hardest part of this project, well any project actually is coming up with your idea, and plan to what its going to be about. When we were coming up with our idea we all pitched in and helped with coming up with the idea. we all helped with the project and spent an equal amount of time working on the planning document.
With this project we had ups and downs. In the beginning we came across our biggest issue, we had no idea what our trailer was going to be about. we all pitched ideas out, but none of them were 100% amazing. after a while of mixing and matching parts of ideas, we finally came up with an idea that sounded pretty good. Our biggest success occurred while in the editing timeline. in the last sequence we added in a lot of flashes of black screen, and slow motion shots, and audio that really made the piece dramatic.
When we turned in our final product we felt good, and happy about the way it turned out. Based on the results of the critique you can see that the class thought so as well. Each of the 3 categories had a mix of 3's and 4's, but the overall high numbers in all of them was a 4. Through this process i learned different and new editing techniques that add interesting effects to video in final cut.
